Directed a whole-of-government approach to AI safety, security, and equity, including safety-test reporting for powerful models, standards development at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, infrastructure security, and civil-rights protections. It also assigned agency tasks concerning healthcare, workforce, and research and development.

Healthcare Implications

Spurred HHS and other agencies to evaluate risks in clinical algorithms, bias in health programs, and AI safety testing. EO 14110 was revoked by EO 14179 on January 23, 2025. Its derivative OMB memoranda M-24-10 and M-24-18 were subsequently rescinded and replaced by M-25-21 and M-25-22; no current obligations should be inferred from those superseded instruments.
